[Personality]
In the start of the story when one meets Oz Vessalius, he’s the son of a prestigious noble family and never seemed like it. He never was one to be kept down, rebellious and the farthest from that which you’d imagine someone of noble blood to act. Oz was – and still is – a child who will manipulate a situation (and people) if it will benefit him, and knows how to get others to do what he wants by sneaky methods, though still wearing a bright, energetic smile on his face. He’s very bubbly and cheerful, but as a child came to have this mindset of just accepting everything that came his way, not being surprised by anything that showed up before him due to when his father rejected and called him nothing more than filth. From the start this has been a big part of his character and still is, and while he’d had the longest time when he’d been self-sacrificial and believed that was the only way to save people, he was changed and made to see things in a different light thanks to one Elliot Nightray. The boy remained his longest and closest friend; someone he befriended without nobility or connections getting it for him, and so he had a penchance for acting silly around the boy and his friend because of that. He’s very emotional and is known for acting almost childish from time to time, but more importantly is that he’s upbeat and smiling. Always laughing and working past anything that was bothering him, bouncy and eyes bright. It’s a large part of who he is, and despite a few kinks in the road, he hasn’t let anything keep him down. He jokes around a lot and loves flustering people if he can, but more than anything, it’s this happy and cheerful attitude that likely brings him closer to other people; making him this sort of ‘light’ in the darkness of sorts.
Not just with Elliot, but with Gilbert, Alice and Echo as well.
He befriended them and has remained loyal to each of them. Always there to pick them up and helps them whenever he’s physically able to, and never hesitates to speak his mind, whether the words are harsh or soft; making Oz seem a little cheeky to others like Xerxes Break for one, but that’s just who he is. Oz is a very strong character in his own right, being cheerful, happy, headstrong and unafraid of what he believes in, whether it’s his friends or just his ideals. However, he is far from perfect; the death of Elliot put him in a hard place. It left him feeling winded and unlike who he really was. In the end, this was an important milestone and it really helped him grow up and become emotionally mature. Starting to do more and more on his own stubborn personality, he didn't want to seem weak; it could almost seem reckless.
Underneath all of this, his strong bonds with his friends really cannot be severed. His fight against Leo shows this, punching him and telling him it's what Elliot would do; He tried to snap him out of his moment of madness. He does this for each of his friends when they're having a difficult time, wanting to reach out and help them. Where it regards those close to him and how he treats them, Oz can be seen as a bit of a bully, but it’s done mostly with purely good intentions as he would do nothing intentionally to hurt them. The ones he’s done this to have included Gilbert, Reim, Break and even Alice to a smaller extent. He also shares a close bond with Alice, a girl he had met 100 years ago and was the one who gave him a namesake when he’d been a plush toy; before he’d become a chain. She means the world to him, to the extent that before he knew what she’d meant to him in the past, he trusted her before anyone else. She was honest, straightforward and didn’t tell any lies, and she became someone undeniably close to his heart. He fights to protect her, endures her occasional kicks to the head and wants to keep her safe despite knowing full well if she wanted to, she could defend herself. Needless to say, she is a big part of his life and someone he loves having by his side no matter what, as she makes him smile even when he’s upset.
A close second really would have to be Gilbert, a man who he grew up with as his servant, and from the beginning, had told him not to call him ‘master’. Essentially his best friend, wanting him to still be by his side after his ten year disappearance into the abyss, and he trusts him a lot, to the point he does reckless things. Such as pointing an aimed gun at his head and running headfirst into things that could get him killed, but knowing Gilbert will always save him as he’s never disappointed him [except once but it wasn’t his fault]. Trust is the key word as he’s always had Gilbert there, and as such, he’s never been alone which has been important over anything, and the man was easily able to accept him for what his true nature is which adds to strengthen the bond they already shared.
He has an incredibly uncanny ability to bring out the best in others as well, this being shown with the girl named Echo, who’s normally deadpan and expressionless. Oz took her out in a festival and treated her like a friend should treat another, with happiness and no hesitations, and he enjoys spending time with her as he wants to see her happy and have her smile because like the others, she really is someone he likes spending time with. Mainly because she’s unlike the others and he believes she needs to relax since she never seems to get that on her own, coaxing her to enjoy herself.
Everyone has doubts about themselves and for years Oz wondered about his own, wanting to find answers to put them to rest. He couldn't help but wonder why his father hated him so much to the point of calling him filth when all he’d done is work to win his admiration as a child. Once he found out the truth behind it, that set him to a point where he had fallen in a dark point of his life. He believed he wasn’t worth protecting and that he had nothing – words spoken him to Jack Vessalius - and got it in his head, even once banishing a close friend away from his side.
Something that was still able to get to him was his bonds with his family, showing that they were strong. Not just with his sister, Ada, but his Uncle Oscar. He was able to do something that even Gilbert couldn't do; He brought Oz out from that cold, hard shell he'd started building around himself. He had never been able to stand up to Jack Vessalius from the start when the man revealed the truth about him and his origins, but finally regained the strength and confidence to stand up for who he was. This was a vital thing as Oscar had a pivotal role in Oz’s life as the man who served as a pseudo-father to him and he looked up to him, admiring and looking to be someone like him; it’s why he’s come to emulate some traits from him in the end. Oscar was always there for him when he could, just like a father should have been for Oz and that’s why perhaps Oz came out being not entirely a stuck up brat or someone more dislikeable.
It was because of Oscar’s words and influence that he realized, he did have something. His friends and family had the proof of his existence in their hearts and this was when for the first time he could fully stand by this, giving him more self-confidence and can hold himself taller because the power held over him was diminished. Though even despite all of this, it's likely this won't change the fact that underneath these somewhat serious aspects, he's still a big flirt with the tendency to be overdramatic about it. This trait itself, was picked up from his Uncle Oscar as a kid; coming to emulate the man’s humor and how he treats women. He grew up in a proper household as a noble, and as a result, he’s rather smart in retaining things in books he reads and has even managed to be able to pick up on other people’s body language/hidden meanings in a conversation.
Oz has already come so far from the boy he’d been in the beginning. Now that he’s found out who he is and understanding the bonds he has with those around him, it’s given him a sort of new perspective on his life.
[Abilities] Being as Oz was discovered to be the real B.Rabbit chain, simply contracted through Jack’s body which he shared, he has a few abilities that he’s come to be able to take control of all on his own though he does so only when necessary.
Scythe: Oz’s weapon of choice is a large blood red scythe that looks like it should be too heavy to wield his frame. This weapon has the unbelievable power to break the chains that hold a world apart; it’s very destructive to say the least and it’s what makes him one of the strongest chains out there. Not even Baskervilles can face him unscathed.
Chains: Along with the scythe, he is able to summon these large spiked chains from out of nowhere and these are used to pierce his enemies or wrap around them at will. They’re deadly sharp-edged and if he needs, they will simply be there to help him.
When he’s in this B.Rabbit/chain mode, his eyes are blood red and had once seemed psychotic when wielding this power, but since learning his true origins, he’s more conscious of himself when he draws on this power. There’s also two sides to this as his true form is a large black rabbit with beastly red eyes, sharp teeth and is stronger in this form, unhindered by his size, but he mostly goes in his human state while wielding the powers and the scythe but the effects are just about the same for the most part.
Outside of this mode, he is rather smart, quick-witted, able to talk himself out of some situations and is getting better with using a sword. Not perfect but he’s learning how to perfect this, though where it comes to his chain powers, he would never willingly use them in Somarium; the destructive power would still be there but not enough to destroy a world as it isn’t his own and doesn’t function the same as his would.
[Are you bringing in a canon element?]
Yes! His favored pocketwatch :D
[Other important stuff] He’s got his somarium memories from when he was here before so this is pretty much a re-app haha XD

[First Person]
- If you could go back home, would you? Why or why not?
I would! My uncle’s there and he’s… I can’t just leave him like that…
- If someone provoked or attacked you, what would you do?
Fight back and defend myself, of course. [ A nod of his head here. ] What else would I do but that anyway?
- You're asked to take someone out for a date. Do you agree? If so, describe what you would do. If not, tell why.
Of course I would~! I’d make them feel like they were the only girl in the world and treat them to only the best that I can. [ He’s glorifying it a little. Juuuust a bit. ] Perhaps a dinner with flowers and food that she loves while I dote on her every whim~
It’s something I learned from Uncle. You have to treat a girl right and take care of her, you know~?
- Murder. What is your opinion?
[ There was just a bit of darkness that crossed his face and he looked away with something like a wry smile on his lips. ]
I don’t agree with it and I don’t think it’s really necessary. It happens too much as people can get carried away without even thinking about what they’re doing until it’s almost too late.
- What is more important to you: having friends or living on your own? Why?
Having my friends with me. I learned that they really do care for me and they helped make me who I am today. I’d rather be with them and live a happier life as it’s… no fun being all on your own. I had it nearly happen to me when I was younger and it was too lonely like that and I don’t want it to happen again.
[ There’s a breath exhaled as he hesitates a little, eyes averted. ]
- There is a cake in the rain. What do you do?
If I can save a piece of it before it’s too destroyed, I’ll take one~! I love sweets after all, and there’s not anyone to tell me I can’t have it.. or maybe I should take the whole thing, seeing as Break’s here not to steal any of it from me~
[ Looking positively bubbly and elated at this thought. ]
[Third Person]
It was so nostalgic; ending up like this again when he thought he never would.
The circumstances this time were so different from that time he’d last come here, being a shadow of a person and not believing in himself and even needing Oswald’s help to pick up the pieces and keep him safe until he’d done so. While some memories still seemed vague, he couldn’t forget them or the people that he’d made bonds with, fingers tracing along the glassy surface of the water and watching as they made small ripples in it.
Oz felt like a different person now after everything he’d gone through back home, but it was far from a bad thing. Even with knowing what Gilbert had done, he wasn’t so sad about as much as almost petulant as he debated on if he’d be able to punish him for it when he saw him again. “Gil’s really gonna get it next time I see him…” He huffed, splashing the water a bit in retaliation and not caring if he was hit with a bit of it as he was lying on his stomach at the lakeside. If the other was here, he’d probably been dragged away because there’d be risk of falling in and catching a cold or something like that… which almost made him miss the nagging Gilbert used to do when he’d first come back from the Abyss. Back when Gilbert insisted on using the ‘Raven’ name to hide who he really was.
Even Gilbert had changed though, and he knew it.
Though it made him wonder if he could still bug him with cats… or if he’d be able to make Gilbert fluster and try to take care of him now, seeing as he only did have one arm now compared to two. It was a master’s responsibility to take care of their servants and this was still no different. Nothing had changed despite everything recently that had happened, except for one thing that he was just trying not to muse on because it left this painful sensation in his chest that he didn’t want to acknowledge.
“Then I’ll just…”
His words stopped short mid-sentence before he shook his head, flopping down on the ground with a sigh even as he heard a female’s voice calling his name as it got closer with the sound of footsteps racing toward him. “…I’ll just have to be happy then. It’s what Uncle would want..”
A smile curled his lips then and he just sat up, turning to face the direction of the voice while holding himself in an incredibly proud and confident manner. “I’m over here, Alice~!”
[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] I loved playing him before and as such I wanted to bring him back for one last run before the game closes :3
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] No God-modding. Because if people were allowed to go around god-modding, it would only make a game un-fun to play in and would create unwanted and unnecessary drama.
